Academic Development

This program allows freshman and sophomores to pair up with upperclassmen, in order to facilitate their transition to Texas A&M. Students receive a support system, and someone they can go to if they have any questions. Students get paired up by major and interest in the work field.

SHPE Study Hours

Members gather at the Evans Library Annex every Monday from 5pm to 9pm to study while enjoying their favorite snacks. This year there will be special stations present at study hours for members who participate in MentorSHPE so that they may report on their progress as a pair and study together. Study hours encourage members to dedicate a significant amount of time to studying and applying techniques learned from academic programs offered by the Office of Academic Development, in order to master their classes and be academically successful.

Our sponsors love to give more opportunity to the members in the most generous way possible. Through application and qualification, sponsors contribute to a member’s education through scholarship or grant donation

Academic Workshops

Academic workshops will be held throughout the year to help our members expand their knowledge in several areas. Among the workshops there is programming and coding, entry to a major, graduate school and the study abroad workshop.
